Estate Sales & Downsizing Sales

Consultation

Liquidating your estate, whether for a loved one or downsizing for yourself, can be an emotional process. We understand this and offer a free consultation to all of our prospective clients. Conducting a successful sale for our clients starts with trust. In order to create a customized liquidation plan for you, we meet with you at the estate and conduct an initial meeting and walk-through. We get to know your needs, hopes, and time-frame and after our meeting, we provide an initial proposal of the process we feel would be best for you. We ask that before the consultation - please do NOT throw away or donate any of the estate's belongings. You never know what treasures you may have!

Organizing and Set-up

Once you’ve hired us to conduct your sale, we spend time organizing the estate belongings and set up for the sale. This involves, sorting, organizing, cleaning out unsaleable items, research and pricing. We price items competitively and based on the current market. Estate sale pricing is usually higher than the average garage sale, but lower than what you originally paid for the item. Collectibles and antiques can bring higher values and these prices are based on research and consultation with our community experts.

Sale

Most sales are 2-3 day sales. Occasionally, larger estates need 4 days. Ahead of the sale, we advertise to promote the sale through a variety of online methods. On the day of the sale, we also use signage to direct customers to the sale. Each day of the sale we re-merchandise to promote unsold items. The last day of the sale is typically ½ price day and can attract repeat buyers and help clear out the property. After the sale, we can conduct a clean-out, where unsold items are donated to the charity of your choice. We provide you with a full accounting of income and expenses and provide you with your earnings within 5 - 14 days of the sale.
